1960 was the year Raymond C Hunt forever changed the powerboat world with the introduction of a Deep-V hull , proven and accepted as the ultimate hull form for speed and comfort and safety through rough water. C.Raymond "Ray" Hunt was a self taught designer with instinctive understanding of the principles of Yacht design. His profile, uncanny knowledge of how to move boat through the water is derived from a skill, no tank test or formula can replicate.
Hunt's diverse portfolio of timeless designs includes the Concordia yawl, 12 m Americas cup Yacht EASTERNER, Bertram power boats and Boston Whaler. Ray's breakthrough Deep V Hall design has which stood the test time. After decades of attempts by others to design a better high performance hull, the Hunt deep V continues to dominate the powerboat design into the 21st-century.
The original dead rise angle designed by C. Raymond Hunt remains the optimal choice for performance and stability in marine design. His innovative hull form, combined with the craftsmanship of Lee S. Wilbur's Boatyard in Manset, Maine, has produced a vessel that not only performs exceptionally well but also features expertly crafted decks and superstructure.
The interior of GITANA exemplifies the enduring quality and timeless design that characterizes high-end Maine custom boat building. Aboard, guests are greeted with a blend of practical elegance and thoughtful finishes, reflecting a commitment to both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The meticulous attention to detail and high-quality materials ensure that GITANA has withstood the test of time, showcasing the best of traditional boat craftsmanship.
