THE COMPLETE STORY

The NEXT CHAPTER has a wonderful layout that is perfectly suited for extended cruising or living aboard.

The Next Chapter is a  truly classic and graceful pilothouse with traditional lines and comfortable three stateroom interior.  Built on a solid fiberglass hull with an integrated swim platform. The pilothouse layout includes  a comfortable saloon, open floor galley is forward and open to dining area, master suite with walk around queen bed, VIP stateroom with queen berth forward as well as the guest stateroom with upper/lower bunks  to port. Both heads aft and forward have separate stall showers, great storage for an extended cruise, an economical and comfortable yacht, for both local and long range cruising.Serious thought was put into the use of space while ensuring abundant storage.

Entering the main saloon from the cockpit, one steps through double stainless steel doors into a bright expansive main saloon with large windows to port and starboard and large windows facing out into the cockpit.  The windows have custom treatments and complement the new carpet, new recliner and built in settee that is located on the starboard side of the saloon. The windows were set low into the hull so as  to allow great visibility while seated in the main saloon. The settee and matching barrel chair are covered with a luxurious material in warm cream tones.

Because NEXT CHAPTER has a very open layout, there is also an abundance of natural light that comes in through the large forward windows and side windows of the pilothouse.  The high gloss birds eye maple interior is just so warm and inviting.

To port in the main saloon there is a tremendously comfortable custom bulit 12v electric recliner that would be at home in any shore side mansion. An adjacent barrel chair is well placed so as to be a part of the conversation or to lounge and watch the newly upgraded TV and Bose surround theater located forward in the saloon.  The designer of the NEXT CHAPTER took into consideration that one might wish to display small items of art and there are built-in display ledges that run the length of both sides of the main saloon as well as a set of book shelves located forward and to port.

Looking forward on the centerline, one can go up into the pilothouse via 3 stairs into the pilothouse or at the top of the 3 stairs make a port turn and proceed up the open wooden staircase to the flybridge. Located below the 3 stairs that access the pilothouse one will find an interior entrance into the engine room and pump room space.

Looking forward and to starboard while standing in the main saloon one will find a very private entrance down into the master ensuite which is located amidship, giving one a very stable quiet place of refuge. Entering the master ensuite there is a well placed vanity/desk area complete with storage, beautiful custom LED light fixture and seat.  The offset island Queen berth(full walk around) sports all new custom bedding and below berth storage.  2 good sized hanging lockers will accommodate your complete wardrobe. There are several large and small storage lockers also to be found in the master stateroom.

The same light color high gloss maple wood is used to lighten the interior along with four port lights and custom programable LED lighting. For entertainment there is a 34’ flat screen TV with the Apple TV system and a DVD Blu Ray player.

Entering  into the ensuite head, one finds a decent sized shower stall, Corian countertops, good storage mirrored medicine cabinet and a new state of the art Tecma head.

Heading back up into the main saloon and up into the pilothouse one is immediately struck by the great visibility enjoyed while in the pilothouse. A good sized GE refrigerator is located to port, has a gorgeous maple fascia and a custom spice rack installed on one side. There is a very comfortable dinette located forward of the refrigerator.

Instead of a bulkhead dividing the salon from the galley much of the saloon is still visible from the galley. The countertops and table are made of Corian.  The double sinks have a Moen retractable faucet and garbage disposal. There is a rack for storage of wine glass below one of the upper cabinets. To the port side is a large apartment size GE refrigerator with top freezer finished with maple fascia and a custom spice rack installed on one side.  The dinette with dining table has a very cool retractable added counter space, plus under seat storage.  Other appliances include a new Samsung microwave, three burner ceramic cooktop, Broan trash compactor and Doulton fresh water filtration system. The floor is light high gloss wood which has just been refinished, as have the stairs to the bridge.

On centerline in the pilothouse is the lower steering station with a sliding door on the starboard side  to access the bow. There are  stairs below to the forward guest cabins and laundry area. The helm chair is a FlexSteel electric adjustable.

Electronics include: Garmin 1242 Multi-Function Display chart plotter, depth, autopilot, engine gauges, bow and stern thruster controls, windlass control, VHF and more.

Heading down the stairs, one finds the guest staterooms and laundry areas of the NEXT CHAPTER.  The stacked washer dryer is located to midship when you enter he hallway. Further ahead and to port is the guest bunk room with over/under berths. Even these berths have completely new custom bedding.  All the way forward is the VIP stateroom.  This stateroom is bright and cheerful with an island walk around queen berth with new custom bedding. There is an overhead deck hatch.  The good sized hanging locker, abundant storage, a flat screen TV. along with private climate controls makes this a quiet retreat.

FLY BRIDGE AND DECK

An interior wooden staircase leads up  to a well-designed FLY BRIDGE perfect for enjoying the beauty of Mother Ocean or while at rest, gazing at the setting sun.The Bimini top extends from the forward windshield to the radar arch and a secondary sun shade extends from the radar arch aft  providing good sun protection for those seated at the helm or on either of the 2 settees that are located to port and starboard. New bridge speakers are on their own dedicated circuit providing quiet back ground music or dance music for those lovely full moon evenings.  Family and guests are all able to take advantage of the incredible views from the fly bridge while under way. Aft of the seating area there is the completely rebuilt from the fiberglass hull up, 13’5” Novurania with fully serviced 50 HP Yamaha outboard. The tender while being completely rebuilt also had a custom larger 14-gallon fuel tank installed and upgraded electronics. The tender is launched using the rebuilt and completely serviced BROWER 800 lb capacity davit. The entire bridge deck has beautiful NUTEAK synthetic teak decking which is so easy to maintain and comfortable under foot. The helm, which is off set to starboard, looks like it should be in the cockpit of a Lear jet. At one's fingertips you wll find a complete array of electronics, bow and stern thruster controls, windlass controls, etc. The helm has thoughtful dual seating so that should you wish to join your captain, you may do so. Off to port of the dual helm seat is another companion set facing aft. This fly bridge was definitely designed for the maxim amount of fun and lounging while cruising or just goofing off.

There is a very large deck access hatch to the engine room.

A very thoughtful addition is a light switch located adjacent to the saloon doors providing complete cockpit lighting when coming aboard at night.

FOREDECK

There is a sliding aluminum door on the starboard side of the pilothouse leading to the foredeck with high stainless-steel rails. The Muir VR VRC 2200 anchor windlass has foot controls plus controls at the upper and lower helm. The anchor is a Delta Plow with 160’ of chain and 300’ of nylon rode.
